8-Week Trauma Sensitive Yoga Series
A small, private group meeting Thursdays at 4:30pm for eight one-hour Trauma Sensitive Yoga sessions, starting October 22 at Yoga NoHo in North Hollywood. A consistent space to experience TCTSY, at your own pace.
TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga) is the first yoga-based, empirically validated clinical intervention for complex trauma and chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD, developed over 20+ years of research at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment. In clinical trials, it reduced PTSD symptoms as effectively as Cognitive Processing Therapy, a gold-standard PTSD treatment - with results coming about twice as fast and a 42.6% higher completion rate.
Each week combines practice with time to explore the foundations of TCTSY: a bit of trauma theory, how trauma can live in the body and nervous system, working with interoception, and the core principles of the practice — invitational language, choice-making, and non-coercion. There's a lot to cover, and eight weeks gives us the time and space to really explore it together.
The practice is choice-based and invitational. Every movement is an offering, there are no hands-on assists, and you always decide what feels right in your body. No yoga experience needed.
TCTSY can stand on its own or work alongside talk therapy, EMDR, and other forms of support. It isn't therapy or a replacement for licensed mental health care.
